Fedde Le Grand Wins 2 Awards at WMC 2012

Global sensation and Flamingo Recordings founder Fedde Le Grand is gaining the recognition he deserves! With three non-stop World Tours, five number one records, and remixes out the wazoo, 2011 was a successful year and one for the history books for this DJ and Producer. There’s no wonder why he rose the ranks of DJ Mag’s Top 100 this last year rising seven spots from #21 in 2010 to #14 in 2011.

At the 27th annual International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) during Winter Music Conference (WMC) 2012 in Miami, Florida we saw this Netherlands native walk away with two awards. For his remix of Coldplay’s Paradise he took home the ‘Best Alternative/Rock Dance Track‘, which was up against heavy hitters Snow Patrol, Washed Out, Friendly Fires, M83, Neon Indian, and Foster The People who all had phenomenal years as artists. It was also in the running for ‘Best Progressive Track‘, but fell short to Alesso’s remix of Nadia Ali, Starkillers, and Alex Kenji’s Pressure. Fedde’s Paradise remix was released back in October (2011) on the Toolroom Records label and quickly took off making it Fedde’s 5th #1 track on the Beatport charts in 2011. Paradise held the top spot on the charts for almost a month’s time span. Not to shabby.

Also voted as the best techno track was Fedde’s track Metrum released on the Toolroom Records imprint, which was also remixed by Manuel De La Mare. Metrum was released back in June just in time to drop during sets for the summer lovin’. Metrum really showcases Fedde’s talent as a producer. Though, we hear a lot of his progressive stuff in the mainstream he sure knows how to bring a darker edge to his choons. A very tech-hau5 track indeed.

There’s a great article about the global star on MTV where he talks about his remixes, radio series Dark Light Sessions, Flamingo Recordings, and more! Read the full article here.
