Summer is right around the corner, and I know you’ve heard it time and time again, but it’s fucking summer anthem season! Uplifting, progressive, and rolling riffs and synth filled tracks are going to be filling the spaces of our hard drives and ipods for next 2 months. A good break from the chaotic and schizophrenic sound of electro, we are treated with another special emotional trip from Mayaeni’s vocals and Sander van Doorn’s latest production.

While eagerly awaiting Sander van Doorn’s official release of “Nothing Inside” after premiering the single on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show and performing it live at Ultra Music Festival, we could only anticipate the emotive nature and goosebump ride we’d be taken on. With strong vocals and deep instrumentals, “Nothing Inside” is light and simple in nature. Sander van Doorn couldn’t put this track together any more perfect than it already is.

The lyrics were written by Mayenie and Justin Parker who was also the man behind Lana del Rey’s hit single “Video Games“. With a first time listen, you’re taken over by melodic piano riffs layered on top of Mayenie’s beautiful voice, which tells us a story in a traditional ballad manner. Simply put, beautiful.
